1980 - 1984 Savvy Engineer / Manager / Booking
SAVVY was formed in early 1971 by drummer and
vocalist Rick Miller and some school and neighborhood friends. Rick
was
a sophmore at Eastern Hills High School. By the time he was a senior,
SAVVY was the house band at the "Gingerbread House" in Fort
Worth. The format changed from rock-and-roll to a show/dance band.
Rich
Mauch joined SAVVY on guitar and vocals late in '72 and then SAVVY hit
the road on the show circuit for three and a half years. "Savvy's
Castle" featuring SAVVY opened in Arlington in '75 and by the
summer of '77 had to move to a larger location with more parking
in Fort Worth.
The name changed To simply "Savvy's." Upon entrance of Steve
Jones on vocals and guitar and Richard Jones on bass and vocals in '78,
SAVVY began rocking and rolling once again. A few months later, Ricky
Gregg joined SAVVY on guitar and vocals and brought with him several
original
songs.
