The Texas Music Hour originated in 1981, when KTXQ-Q102 disc jockey Gary Shaw took the idea of giving Texas bands radio exposure to management, who gave permission for the show. Bands were invited to Pantego Sound recording studios, and recorded with a live mix...no over dubbing...and then broadcast on Q102. The shows were produced by Shaw, and engineered by Jerry Hudson. Each band was given 30 minutes, and two bands were featured on each show. In all, over 50 bands were given radio exposure that they otherwise would not have had. |
