Several downtown Fort Worth businesses will have to close a few hours today for President
Clinton's Sundance Square visit, but they still hope to cash in with the crowds expected
to attend the campaign stop. The Secret Service asked that some restaurants and shops
along Houston Street close from about 8 to 10 a.m. while bomb-sniffing dogs sweep the
block. The businesses face the parking lot where Clinton will speak.The merchants will

If you're the president of the United States, you're speaking in downtown Fort Worth and
you want live TV coverage, it helps to show up on time. Bill Clinton was scheduled to
appear at 12:25 p.m., in time for the four major network affiliates' noon newscasts. But
he arrived after 12:30 and didn't actually begin speaking until shortly after 1 p.m.A
quick channel-surf between 12:30 and 1 p.m. showed only KXAS/Channel 5 airing Clinton's
arrival at Sundance
